We offer a warm welcome to all who come to the Mease Valley Churches for Thanksgivings and Baptisms (Baptisms are sometimes known as Christenings). Our aim is to provide a happy Christian environment to make your important day special, as we share with you at the beginning of a journey of faith in Baptism (either as an adult or a child looking to join the church family)
Attendance regularly at one of our churches in the Mease Valley will allow us all time to get to know one another before exploring Baptism together.
We sometimes come together to celebrate the birth of a child at a Thanksgiving service with a cake and some prayers. Thanksgivings are incorporated into existing services with a nice cake and prayers are said, offering families opportunity to thank God for the birth of a child while not at that time making Christian promises about bringing a child up in a church family. A Thanksgiving can sometimes lead onto a Baptism at a later date after a family has had time to explore church life a little more.
If you would like to explore coming to one of our churches and later to book a Baptism (sometimes known as a Christening) these take place at our Sunday morning services at 10.15am) or a thanksgiving service, please contact Revd. John Grice to arrange to come to the next available ‘vicar’s hour’ at St. Andrew’s Church, Clifton Campville. These take place monthly on a Monday evening at 7.30pm, 8pm or 8.30pm. Contact (01827) 373 257. Or email revjohngrice@gmail.com to check if spaces are available.
Here is a copy of our booking form in case you would like to make a start first. The Church of England has a very helpful site to answer a number of questions for those not familiar with the church yet or who are new to Christian faith.
