What to expect when visiting

How to find us…

We have churches in the villages of Chilcote, Clifton Campville, Edingale, Elford, Harlaston and Thorpe Constantine. Use this map to zoom out a little and we can be found North of Tamworth.

Services…

We offer a warm welcome to all who come to the Mease Valley Churches. Our aim is to provide a happy Christian environment to make your important day special, as we share with you at the beginning of a journey of faith or a coming together in Christian marriage, as adults continuing on that journey.

What to expect at Church

We appreciate that going to a church for the first time can be quite overwhelming and even uncomfortable. We want you to know that you will be made most welcome.

Where should I park?

There is limited parking space around each of our main churches. If you are a disabled badge holder it is always worth calling in advance of your visit just incase we can find you a place closest to one of our buildings. However there is quite sufficient parking outside of St.Peter’s church in Elford.

What should I wear?
You will find In the Mease Valley that some like to come in suits, others in more casual clothes. God is more interested in the heart than your outward appearance – and so are we!

Where should I sit?
There are no reserved seats (unless you are attending a Wedding or a Funeral) sit where you are most comfortable and have a good view. Churches mostly fill up from the back, so if you are new, come slightly early and you can easily ask what others are doing as you familiarize yourselves.

Should I bring money?
Normally we take an offering during a service. There is an offering plate that is passed from row to row and anyone who wishes may place their offering or donation.

What about children?
During our worship on a Sunday morning all children are encouraged to feel a part of our services.  We have a regular children’s group specifically at two of our churches. St.Andrew’s Church, Clifton Campville and St.Peter’s Church, Elford.  Please note that Holy Trinity Edingale is without a toilet in the church but we are in the planning stage of installing one.

How long will the services last?
Sunday morning services typically runs from 10.15am – 11:20am. Morning services are usually followed by tea/coffee/juice at the back of churches. St.Matthew’s church, Harlaston regularly has a Traditional 8.45am – 9.45am service. Check our home page for our most up to date service schedule with times and venues as not every church in the Mease Valley has weekly services.

What about accessibility?
Our churches have access for wheelchairs, buggies and those who use walking aids. We have a T-loop in our sound system for those with hearing aids. Our main speakers make use of microphones turing talks and for notices

What if I arrive late?
We know that lateness can’t always be avoided – especially if you’re new to the area or have a young family. Simply come in and take a seat. One of the wardens will welcome you and give you any service sheets you need.

Any further questions?
If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch and ask.
If you are a little unsure about coming, perhaps you could bring a friend.
If you have any questions when you arrive, our wardens and sides-persons will be pleased to help.  If you come and would like a bit more information about one of our churches or to be invited to one of our small groups. Just ask

We look forward to seeing you!
